These terms cover using the Purple Oranges website and the general basis on which we work. When we take on a project, we agree the specific details with you separately in writing before any work or payment. Those project terms take priority over anything here.

What we do

Purple Oranges designs and builds websites for businesses. As part of our approach, we may build you a sample or preview of a website before you commit. A sample is a concept to help you decide. It is not the finished website and may use placeholder content.

Quotes and payment

We quote each project up front at a fixed price agreed with you before we start. Nothing is owed unless you agree to go ahead. Payment terms for a project are set out in that project's agreement.

Your content

If you give us text, images, logos or other material for your website, you confirm you have the right to use it. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.

Ownership

Once a project is fully paid, the finished website is yours. We may show completed work in our own portfolio or examples unless you ask us not to.

What we do not promise

We build good websites, but we cannot guarantee specific business results, search rankings, or traffic. Those depend on many things outside our control.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to our website or services is limited to the amount you have paid us for the relevant work. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act or Fair Trading Act where they apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
